Photos of Durham, December 2010
Walk to work in the snow.
Views of Cathedral.
Library, exterior. On the left you see the older part of the building. To the right is the first of the Harry Faulkner-Brown extensions (same architect as Dundee, St Andrews, etc.). The crane is engaged in building the latest extension. Four floors throughout.
Part of the new open-plan work area: seems to be popular. Plenty of space compared to the old Level 1 work area in Dundee. Nice big windows for some.
View across open-plan area to the office which I share with our repositories developer. Offices for the rest of the senior management team (apart from the Head of Special Collections who is at Palace Green Library) are to the left. The rest of the systems team lurk behind the shelves stacked with red component boxes.
Me inside my office.
John and his snowman (built by Hilary).
The kind of welcome you sometimes get at our house!
